NAIP working to raise investments for Belarusian startups

MINSK ( BelTA) – The National Agency of Investment and Privatization (NAIP) is working on raising investments for Belarusian startups, BelTA learned from NAIP First Deputy Director Dmitry Berezovsky.

For two years in a row Belagroprombank has been running a nationwide contest program Startup Marathon designed to support startups and small innovative businesses in Belarus. NAIP cooperates with the bank to support the development of the startup movement. Dmitry Berezovsky said: “Our main task is to attract foreign investments into the country. As part of the Startup Marathon contest program we see our role in somehow promoting, presenting our innovative projects before the foreign business investment community. We see certain interest of foreign businesses in our ideas, in our projects.”

According to the source, NAIP already held two pitching sessions in 2022-2023. “During the sessions our participants had an opportunity not only to practice presenting their ideas, projects, and teams before foreign businesses but also aspire to win the attention of the business community, aspire to potentially raise foreign investments for their projects. If we talk about geographical coverage, we see certain interest in these projects among representatives of the private sector of Australia, France, the UAE, and other Middle East countries,” the official noted.
