Lebedev: CIS information policy takes into account international standards, national interests

MINSK, ( BelTA) - Joint actions of the CIS member states let solving a large-scale task of forming a common information space, CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev said in his welcoming speech to participants of the international scientific conference “On Approaches to the Development of Information Policy of the CIS Member States in Border Security” held in Moscow, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The conference brought together leading specialists, experts and scientists from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, representatives of a number of CIS structures: the Executive Committee, the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services, the Anti-Terrorism Center, the Bureau for Coordination of Combating Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crime, the Committee of Heads of Law Enforcement Units of the Council of Heads of Customs Services, and also the Interstate TV and Radio Company Mir and the CSTO Secretariat.

Sergei Lebedev noted that the information policy in the CIS member states is formed taking into account international standards and national specifics in the interests of establishing a dialogue of trust with the population and coordination of efforts in the development of a common information space.

Sergei Lebedev stressed that the CIS program of cooperation in strengthening border security on the external borders for 2021-2025 is being successfully implemented, including the formation of the framework for information policy in the border area and the development of a unified system of information resources of the CIS bodies in border security.
