MINSK ( BelTA) – The Belarusian government has set the state procurement targets for cucumbers and tomatoes to meet the needs of major retail chains during the 2026/2027 off-season. The relevant resolution of the Council of Ministers was signed by Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin on 31 August, BelTA learned from the government’s press service.

The supply volumes will amount to 9,533 tonnes of cucumbers and 6,050 tonnes of tomatoes.

The government is revising state procurement targets for other products according to yields, demand, and contracts.

Ten cucumber suppliers and five tomato suppliers have been selected for the state procurement. Quality requirements have been established for cucumbers and tomatoes supplied under the state procurement program.

The Agriculture and Food Ministry, in coordination with the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, shall regulate the selling prices for cucumbers and tomatoes until 1 September 2026. Going forward, similar regulation will apply to all fruits and vegetables (annually by 20 March).
