Lukashenko appoints new diplomatic staff, reshuffles Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus

MINSK ( BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko announced new appointments in the embassies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 27 March, BelTA has learned.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Ambrazevich has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Holy See. Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Belarus President Administration Igor Sekreta has been appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. His position in the Belarus President Administration will be taken up by Head of the Asia, Africa and Latin America Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to South Africa and concurrently to Botswana, Mozambique, and Namibia Igor Bely will now head the Belarusian diplomatic mission to the UAE and concurrently to Kuwait.

Director of the Minsk free economic zone Anatoly Buben was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Moldova.

Andrei Andreyev, who was Consul General of Belarus in Shanghai in 2020-2025, was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Brazil and concurrently to Paraguay and Uruguay.

Ambassador of Belarus to Türkiye Anatoly Glaz was appointed non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Iraq.

The head of state also approved the appointment of Igor Sokol, Counselor of the Vladivostok Office of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia as Consul General of Belarus in Vladivostok, Sergei Chichuk, Senior Counselor of the Consulate General of Belarus in Yekaterinburg, as Consul General, and Oleg Shvets, First Deputy Minister of Architecture and Construction, as Consul General of Belarus in Nizhny Novgorod.
