Belarus approves water supply system regulations

BelTA) – Belarus has approved regulations on the procedure for developing schemes and conducting inventories of drinking water supply and wastewater systems. Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin signed the corresponding resolution, BelTA learned from the government press service.
The document approves the regulation on the procedure for the development and approval of drinking water supply and wastewater (sewerage) schemes. These schemes are the primary documents for urban planning and serve as the engineering and technical basis for the development and updating of general plans for settlements. They determine the reserves and capacity limits of existing systems, forecast loads (demand) for new neighborhoods, and establish the technical feasibility of constructing networks.
The resolution also approves the regulation on the procedure for conducting inventories of drinking water supply and wastewater (sewerage) systems. The inventory is necessary to obtain complete, up-to-date, and reliable information on the condition of these systems across the regions, in order to ensure effective management and uninterrupted operation, as well as to prevent accidents and identify ownerless networks and water supply and wastewater facilities.
