Pension system in Belarus to be improved

The Edict of the President of the Republic of Belarus of 18 March 2012 No 136 sets out new rules for determining the pension size for working pensioners. According to the Edict, the amount of the state pension of those who will continue working after obtaining the right to the state pension without claiming it shall be increased by 6 percent of the salary taken into consideration for determining the amount of the pension for the full first year of work after achieving the retirement age, 8 percent – for the second year, 10 percent – for the third, 12 – for the fourth, and 14 percent for the fifth and each consecutive year of work.
The Edict enters into force from the first day of the month following the month in which expires the six month period from the day of its official publication.
