Agreement on legal assistance in civil and criminal matters between Belarus and Serbia signed

Belarus and Serbia signed an agreement on legal assistance in civil and criminal matters during an official visit of the President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic to Belarus.

The agreement will ensure the protection of rights and legal interests of Belarusian citizens and legal persons, contribute to the development and strengthening of the Belarusian-Serbian cooperation in combating crime, including transnational organized crime. Among other things, the Agreement formalizes the issues related to the enforcement of court orders in civil and criminal matters, recognition and enforcement of court verdicts, and promotes the interaction between investigative bodies of Belarus and Serbia in the prosecution of offenders.

The agreement will come into force once it is ratified by Belarus and Serbia.
