Use of renewable energy sources regulated

According to the Edict of the President of the Republic of Belarus of 18 May 2015 No 209 “On the use of renewable energy sources”, it is provided that creation of new and modernization or reconstruction of existing installations using renewable energy sources shall be carried out within the limits of quotas on creation of installations using renewable energy sources, the order of establishing and distributing which to be determined by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus. The Edict also sets forth the order for determining the tariffs for purchasing the electric energy produced by installations using renewable energy sources.

The Edict was officially published in Russian on the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus on 20 May 2015 and its main provisions enter into force in three months after its official publication.
