Law on state ecological expert review adopted

On 18 July 2016 the President of the Republic of Belarus signed the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On state ecological expert review, strategic ecological assessment and environmental impact assessment”. The Law defines objects (projects) that are subject to state ecological expert review, strategic ecological assessment and environmental impact assessment and determines the procedure for performance thereof.

The Law was officially published in Russian on the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus on 21 July 2016, and its main provisions enter into force in six months after its official publication.
