Belarus ratified Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

On 18 October 2016 the President of the Republic of Belarus signed the Law of the Republic of Belarus on ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 13 December 2006. The Convention was signed by the Republic of Belarus on 28 September 2015.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection was designated as the focal point within government for matters relating to the implementation of the Convention.

The Law was officially published in Russian on the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus on 21 October 2016 and enters into force in ten days after its official publication.
