President approved measures aimed at stimulating the use of electric vehicles
Edict of the President of the Republic of Belarus of 10 July 2018 No 273 has approved measures aimed at stimulating the use of electric vehicles. In particular, the Edict has established that till 31 December 2020:
electric vehicles (code 8703 80 000 2 of the Single Commodity Nomenclature for Foreign Economic Activity of the Eurasian Economic Union) are exempt from paying state duties for the issue of the permit for admission of vehicles for participation in road traffic;
devices for charging batteries (code 8504 40 of the Single Commodity Nomenclature for Foreign Economic Activity of the Eurasian Economic Union) being imported in the territory of the Republic of Belarus are exempt from the value added tax.
The Edict was officially published in Russian on the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus on 13 July 2018, and its main provisions enter into force in three months after its official publication.
