Lukashenko making a visit to Grodno Oblast

GRODNO (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko is on a working trip to Grodno Oblast on 19 March, BelTA has learned.

The head of state will visit the Obukhovo dairy complex. He will be briefed on the social and economic development of Grodno Oblast and Grodno District, as well as the major lines of business of the dairy complex. While touring the Obukhovo company, the president will familiarize himself with production processes.

Aleksandr Lukashenko is also expected to visit the Molochny Mir dairy company. He will be informed about the state of things and development prospects of the company. He will also inspect several production sites to see modern technologies of milk processing and cheese production and an exhibition of the company's products. The president is also expected to meet with the company's team.

The Obukhovo agricultural company was set up as a result of the merger of small collective farms in 1950. Its 66 employees received high government awards, some of them received the title of Hero of Socialist Labor. In total, the company employs over 600 people.

Obukhovo has over 7,300 hectares of farmland. The company has plant growing, cattle breeding, mechanization and construction facilities. Its main lines of business are agriculture and cattle breeding.

Molochny Mir was previously known as Grodno Dairy Plant. It was set up in 1938 and transformed into Grodno Molkombinat in November 1996. By the decision of the FEZ Grodnoinvest administration it was renamed into Molochny Mir in 2007. More than 91% of the company's shares are owned by the state.

The company employs more than 1,900 people. It specializes in milk processing, production and sale of food products, in-depth processing of secondary raw materials. A total of 53 farms in eight districts of the oblast supply their raw materials to Molochny Mir.

The company's products are exported to Russia, China, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Serbia, Kazakhstan, UAE, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Jordan, Armenia, Singapore and other countries.
