Belarus,Vietnam to set up innovation-education company

MINSK, 9 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Vietnamese innovation and education company will be created in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. A relevant agreement was signed by a delegation of the Belarusian State University (BSU) headed by pro-rector for academic affairs Aleksei Tolstik that was in Vietnam for the 9th international trade VIETNAM EXPO 2011, BelTA learnt from the press service of the university.

The partner of the BSU in the project is Venture Capital & Equity Investment Holding Inc. (Ho Chi Minh City). The joint company will be created through the sponsorship of the BSU alumni living in Vietnam, with a view to developing educational, scientific and cultural ties between the BSU, other Belarusian universities and academic institutions and Vietnamese enterprises.

When in Vietnam the BSU delegation conducted more than 70 meetings and negotiations with representatives of agencies, firms and companies from different countries. The delegation signed ten letters of intent with various Vietnamese companies and organizations, including the documents to set up a BSU office in Vietnam for marketing and promotion of products of the Belarusian State University in the Vietnamese market.

The Belarusian delegation paid an official visit to Vietnam on 30 November-3 December to partake in the 9th Vietnamese international trade fair VIETNAM EXPO 2011. Over 40 scientific projects of the Belarusian State University were presented at the exhibition as part of the collective stand of the State Science and Technology Committee and the Education Ministry of Belarus.

The BSU delegation took part in the Belarusian-Vietnamese business forum and a business matchmaking session on cooperation in science, industry, construction, agriculture and food between business circles of Vietnam and Belarus.
