Belarus in no hurry to sell Belaruskali

MINSK, 8 December (BelTA) – Belarus is in no hurry to privatize Belaruskali, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at a session to discuss the potash industry in Belarus on 8 December, BelTA has learnt.

“Talking about the privatization of Belaruskali, I want to say that we are in no hurry. We do not have to sell this company, not one share, not two or ten shares, not 100% of the stock. Therefore, if someone starts yelling that the price is too high, that nobody will pay this price, we are ok with that. I want our miners to know it,” the President said.

Talking about the cost of Belaruskali, the head of state confirmed that the price had been finalized and makes $30 billion. “If someone wants to buy the shares of the company, please, go ahead, we will engage in a dialogue,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
