Belarus, Russia to remain core of post-Soviet integration

MOSCOW, 7 December (BelTA) – The Belarus-Russia relations have been and will remain the core of integration on the post-Soviet space, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Andrei Kobyakov told BelTA after he handed over credentials to the President of Russia in the Kremlin on 7 December.

According to the diplomat, the two countries have inexhaustible reserves for expanding economic cooperation. “Economic integration might be followed by political integration,” the ambassador believes.

“At all times our Dvoika, the Union State, has been a kind of icebreaker that tackled various issues, and these decisions later became the ground for addressing issues in other integration projects,” Andrei Kobyakov concluded.
