Belarus’ investment and business climate praised

BIALA PODLASKA, 7 December (BelTA) – Belarus is working continuously to improve the investment and business climate, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Vladimir Ulakhovich said when speaking at the 15th Belarusian-Polish economic forum “Neighborhood 2011” in Biala Podlaska on 7 December.

Vladimir Ulakhovich emphasized that the Belarusian government is taking big steps towards liberalization of business activities. He also drew attention to the fact that with the establishment of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space, the conditions of work for foreign partners will be getting even more favorable, because the Belarusian market will increase significantly with the partner states: Russia and Kazakhstan.

The BCCI has registered 1830 enterprises of various forms of ownership that develop cooperation with foreign partners. One of the main tasks of the BCCI is to promote international economic cooperation, to assist in establishing international contacts. Vladimir Ulakhovich invited Polish businessmen to cooperate more closely with Belarusian partners. He also thanked the Polish-Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for active work.

About 200 representatives of business and authorities of the two countries are attending the event. The forum highlights the theme “Economic Cooperation as a Key to the Wellbeing of the Community”. The forum aims to intensify bilateral trade and economic cooperation, remove barriers in trade and search for ways to mitigate the impact of the global financial crisis.

The forum is held under the auspices of the ministers of economy and agriculture of Poland and Belarus. The organizers of the forum are the Polish-Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chamber of Commerce in Biala Podlaska and the Marshal of the Lublin Province.
