Belarus, Myanmar sign cooperation agreement

MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) – Belarus and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar signed an intergovernmental agreement on trade and economic cooperation, BelTA has learnt.

The document was concluded during the official visit of the Belarusian governmental delegation with Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich to Myanmar on 1-3 December.

On 2 December the Belarusian Premier met with President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Thein Sein. The sides discussed the prospects of bilateral relations. Mikhail Myasnikovich noted that the viewpoints of the two countries on bilateral contacts coincide what lays a robust foundation for successful implementation of joint projects. “We are glad to see your progress,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.

The two sides also signed agreements on cooperation in education and agriculture. An agreement on cooperation was inked between the chambers of commerce and industry of Belarus and Myanmar. Apart from that, the two countries canceled diplomatic and official visas.
