Lukashenko warns against political bias in Investigation Committee

MINSK, 28 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has instructed the Investigation Committee to be politically unbiased. The President made this statement while appointing the chief officials of the Investigation Committee on 28 November, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.

“Your work should be free from politics. Law is your Bible. There are government officials and political organizations to do politics. Your responsibility is law and punishment. Things should not be politicized where they cannot and must not be politicized. Remember that,” the head of state said.

“I really hope that you all love our country Belarus. You should remember that independence and sovereignty of the country are sacred. You should defend it; after all, you are military men. Therefore, I had no doubts that the Investigation Committee should be a paramilitary structure with the military working there. I promise to do my best to help you solve these issues. Everything will depend on you,” the President said.

“We will spare no effort to help you perform your duties in an excellent way, so that your partners from other countries would come here to study your expertise and admire the most fair and honest system in the world. We can do it. Not only because I insist, but also because we have a serious foundation – the mentality of our people,” the head of state is convinced.
