Belarus, Georgia to cooperate in tourism sector

MINSK, 22 November (BelTA) – In the near future Belarus and Georgia will sign an agreement on tourism cooperation, head of the Tourism Department of the Sport and Tourism Ministry Vadim Karmazin told reporters on 22 November.

Belarus and Georgia will take part in international tourism exhibitions, exchange relevant legal framework, etc. According to Vadim Karmazin, the two countries may promote cooperation in many areas.

Beka Jakheli, Deputy Director of the Georgian National Tourism Agency, said that Belarusian tourists may be interested in Georgian alpine skiing centers and other facilities. Georgia hails tourism as the priority of its economic development, according to Beka Jakheli. This country is very popular with tourists from the United Arab Emirates.

“We will do everything to raise the inflow of Belarusian tourists to Georgia and encourage Georgian tourists to visit Belarus,” Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Belarus Georgy Chkheidze added.

In his words, Georgia is interested in the experience of Belarus to promote winter sports, according to the Ambassador. This industry is dynamically developing in Georgia.
