Belarus hopes to receive two tranches of EurAsEC ACF loan in 2012

RAUBICHI, 4 April (BelTA) – Belarus hopes to get two tranches of the EurAsEC Anticrisis Fund loan (each amounting to $440 million) by the end of the year, Head of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB) Nadezhda Yermakova told media on 4 April.

In her words, the EurAsEC Anticrisis Fund (ACF) wants Belarus to toughen its stabilization program coordinated in 2011. “They want us to toughen up our program, first of all, in the volume of gold and foreign currency reserves and privatization programs,” said Nadezhda Yermakova. According to her, Belarus will be able to make an agreement with the EurAsEC Anticrisis Fund on the next tranches of the loan. “The experts of the fund are coming to Belarus next week. The work will be continued and I think we will receive the loan by the end of the year. Keeping in mind the current volumes of gold and forex reserves, there is no acute need in additional $440 million now,” Nadezhda Yermakova said.
