Andrei Kobyakov appointed Head of Belarus President Administration

MINSK, 27 August (BelTA) – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has appointed Andrei Kobyakov Head of the Belarus President Administration, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

Andrei Vladimirovich Kobyakov was born in Moscow in 1960. He graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute in 1983, the Belarusian State National Economy Institute named after V.V. Kuibyshev in 1991, the Political Science and Social Management Institute of the Communist Party of Belarus in 1991. He began his career as a foreman of the mechanical assembly workshop at the S.I. Vavilov plant in Minsk. In 1985-1988 he worked at the Diaproektor plant in Rogachev, in 1988-1989 he worked as an instructor of the Rogachev Town Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus. In 1991-1995 he worked as the head of the economic planning department, deputy director for economy, head of the economic planning department of the Diaproektor plant.

In 1995-1996 Andrei Kobyakov worked as Deputy Head of the Belarus President Control Service. In 1996-1998 he worked as Deputy Chairman of the State Control Committee. In June 1998 he became the chairman of the Belarusian state concern for manufacturing and selling light industry products.

In 1998-2000 he worked as the Chairman of the State Control Committee. In 2000 he became First Deputy Prime Minister, in 2001 Deputy Prime Minister. In 2002-2003 he worked as Deputy Prime Minister, Economy Minister, in 2003-2010 Deputy Prime Minister, in 2010-2011 Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration.

In November 2011 Andrei Kobyakov was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia with concurrent accreditation as the Permanent Representative of Belarus in the Eurasian Economic Community.
