Belarus President off to Turkmenistan for CIS Heads of State Council session

MINSK, 4 December (BelTA) – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has gone on a working visit to Turkmenistan where he will take part in a session of the CIS Heads of State Council on 5 December, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

The agenda of the session includes current affairs concerning the organization’s operation and the organization’s future development. The heads of state will also discuss the CIS performance in the current period, efforts of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly to build up integrating interaction as well as several humanitarian and cultural affairs. Besides, participants of the session will also discuss the joint celebration of the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.

There are plans to sign several documents after the talks in Ashgabad. The documents concern cooperation in organizing an integrated currency market, the enhancement of cooperation in the sphere of financial security, antiterrorism activities.
