Joint statement by presidents of Belarus and Russia

Joint statement by the presidents of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation

Acting in the spirit of common approaches of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation and taking into consideration repeated statements by the USA and the European Union about the possibility of using economic restrictions against the Republic of Belarus, the Presidents of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation confirm that economic pressure or coercion is unacceptable in international relations.

These measures create artificial barriers in trade, unjustified obstacles to cooperation between economic entities, encroach upon the legitimate rights of the economic security of states, threatening the productive and mutually beneficial cooperation and integration on the Eurasian continent. This will have a negative impact on ordinary people, first of all.

The Presidents of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation are strongly convinced that only a dialogue based on equality and respect can help resolve international disputes. The Presidents condemn any actions impeding such a dialogue.
