Belarus studies Swedish practices in energy security

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – Belarus studied Swedish rule-making and practical experience in energy security and sustainable development, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

The Belarusian delegation led by research supervisor of the NASB Energy Institute Alexander Mikhalevich paid a visit to Sweden for this purpose. The delegation comprised representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

The delegation held several meetings in the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics, the Swedish Energy Agency, and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency. The Belarusian representatives visited world renowned Swedish companies Alfa Laval and Lungs Energi, a municipal heating plant in Skurup that runs on straw and wood pellets, a plant working on wood chips, a biogas plant NSR in Halsingborg and a recycling plant SYSAV in Malino.
