Mandatory preliminary e-declaration in Customs Union as from 17 June
MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) - Mandatory preliminary electronic declaration of goods imported to the Customs Union by transport vehicles will go in force on 17 June 2012, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee Sergei Borisyuk told media on 26 January.
“The use of electronic documents in customs operations has recently intensified, with about 82% of the total export transactions and nearly 50% regarding the import. By the end of 2012 we plan to use only e-documents. The decision of the Customs Union Commission envisages the introduction of mandatory preliminary e-notice on the goods imported to the Customs Union by transport vehicles as from 17 June 2012,” Sergei Borisyuk said.
“Today nearly 35% of the freight crossing the border are transported using this system,” the official stated.
