Lukashenko committed to Union State development

MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko confirms the commitment to promote Union State development. Alexander Lukashenko made the relevant statement as he met with Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev in Minsk on 18 July, BelTA has learned.

Welcoming Dmitry Medvedev, Alexander Lukashenko remarked there were things to talk about, there were strategic problems and matters to discuss taking into account that the Union State Council of Ministers was scheduled to have a session on that day.

The Belarusian head of state said: “It is also very important that you started your new life in politics with Belarus by holding a very important event. It means that we have paid and will pay attention to integration processes. We will pay attention and advance this nucleus, our key project of the Union State”.

The President said the Belarusian side was ready to talk over all matters, including the Union State development, its prospects, defense and finance. “Also taking into account the unfavorable tendencies that advance against us from the West or the South, from all directions. There is a load of problems we should reach an agreement on,” added the Belarusian head of state.
