Azerbaijan ready to supply oil to Belarus if necessary

MINSK, 9 July (BelTA) - Azerbaijan is ready to supply oil to Belarus if necessary, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Azerbaijan Nikolai Patskevich told reporters.

“The issue of supply of Azerbaijani oil has been settled in principle. We worked under the swap contracts with Venezuela, and Azerbaijani oil was supplied to Belarus,” the diplomat said.

However, Nikolai Patskevich said that this year, such shipments have not been made because “in the long run everything depends on the economy”. But Azerbaijan is ready to supply oil to Belarus, and such arrangements exist. If the trends are favorable, then, of course, the deliveries will be done. “For us this is a very important factor of diversification of energy supplies,” the diplomat said.
