MAZ to open new service facility in Venezuela

MINSK, 5 July (BelTA) – MAZ will build a new service facility in Venezuela, head of the company’s department for foreign economic relations Fyodor Nevar told media on 4 July.

In his words, the company is interested in the service of vehicles imported into the region and those assembled at the MAZ plant in Barinas State. The Belarusian company and Venezuela have coordinated a project to construct a service center with an overhaul base.

The company stressed that this is done in order to improve the Belarusian plant’s competitiveness on the international market.

As of 1 June 2012 a total of 2,300 vehicles worth of $143 million were supplied to Venezuela (of them 1,500 trucks and 800 buses).
