Experts: By recalling ambassadors EU repeats used scenarios

MINSK, 1 March (BelTA) – Recalling of the EU Ambassadors to Belarus is a repetition of already used scenarios to put pressure on the country, Sergei Kizima, Head of the Department of International Relations of the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus said in an interview to Belarus-1 TV Channel on 29 February.

“It looks pretty much childish. President Lukashenko has warned the European ambassadors that there is a line which cannot be crossed. Belarus has its rights and is ready to protect them,” the expert believes.

His opinion was echoed by political analyst Pavel Potapeiko. “The EU has no levers of pressure in relation to Belarus. Their sanctions do not work, and have never worked actually. There is no recourse for them but to make spectacular demarches. But these efforts will go astray, too” the expert noted.
