Four Belarusian sugar refineries authorized to export sugar

MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) – Council of Ministers’ Resolution No. 457 of 18 May 2012 has authorized four Belarusian sugar refineries to sell sugar abroad. They include Gorodeya Sugar Refinery, Zhabinka Sugar Refinery, Slutsk Sugar Refinery and Skidel Sugar Refinery, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian government.

The resolution will be effective from 20 May to 20 November 2012. The code of white sugar in the single commodity classification of the Customs Union’s foreign trade is 1701 99 100.

The resolution was passed in accordance with the Customs Union agreement on foreign commodity trade operations on the single customs territory and with third countries passed as of 9 June 2009. Therefore, the State Customs Committee and the Interior Ministry should prevent the export of white sugar by entrepreneurs. The Eurasian Economic Commission will receive the relevant notification. Belarus will also suggest passing a similar resolution in the other members of the Customs Union.
