Hugo Chavez thanks Belarus for support of Venezuela’s industrial development

MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) – President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez thanked Belarus for support of the country’s industrial development, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela with reference to the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.

The matter concerns the Belarusian-Venezuelan brick plant (a joint venture Empicsa) in the State of Miranda. The company employs 142 professionals that produce blocks for housing construction in line with the Venezuela dwelling program. Apart from the construction of the plant, Belarus provided training courses for the Venezuelan personnel and shared its technologies.

The Venezuelan leader thanked Alexander Lukashenko and all the Belarusian specialists involved in the project. “We are currently in the very beginning. We have already reached the target set for December, producing a record 6 million blocks,” Hugo Chavez stated at the meeting of the Venezuelan Council of Ministers in Caracas.

The plant can annually produce 25 million ceramic blocks following the Belarusian technologies and adapted to the Venezuelan conditions. The construction of the brick plant contributed to the implementation of the cooperation program in housing and urban development and infrastructure between the Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of Belarus.

The plant will provide Venezuela will construction materials for its housing construction sector, axe the deficit of dwelling, create jobs and improve social security of the locals.
