No money emission to raise GDP in Belarus

MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) – There are no plans to use an emission to raise Belarus’ GDP growth rate up to this year’s targeted level of 5-5.5%. The statement was made by Chairwoman of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB) Ms Nadezhda Yermakova on 21 November, BelTA has learned.

“We have no right to carry out an emission and we are not going to do it,” stressed Nadezhda Yermakova.

BelTA reported earlier that on 20 November President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko heard out a report from Prime Minister of Belarus Mr Mikhail Myasnikovich. The head of state instructed the government to hit all the social and economic development targets set for the year 2012, particularly the targeted gross domestic product.
