Over 30 legal entities join Gambling Business Association in Belarus

MINSK, 9 October (BelTA) - Belarus has created the Gambling Business Association, which has brought together more than 30 legal entities of the gambling industry of the country, the co-chairman of the association Yuri Chebotar told a press conference.

The gambling business development concept was discussed in detail two and a half years ago, and it was then when the head of state noted that Belarus should create a fair and open system of this business while ensuring strict control. These are the requirements that the Gambling Business Association is guided by.

The main objectives of the association are to promote the civilized development of the gambling business in the country, adopt the measures to promote the establishment of the gaming industry as a branch of the national economy.

“Another important aim of our work is to create a stable legal framework for the gambling business,” Yuri Chebotar said. For this, according to him, there are plans to establish cooperation with some government bodies, namely the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, the Ministry of Taxes and Duties, the Sports and Tourism Ministry, the Interior Ministry. In particular, the association plans to take an active part in the development of legislative and other regulatory acts in gambling business.

The association will pay its overriding attention to the security in the business. Apart from special events, Yuri Chebotar voiced the plans to develop a code of professional ethics, a so-called law of honor for the members of the association. “We will support only those economic operators who work on fair-play principles,” Yuri Chebotar said.

He stressed that the Gambling Business Association is open to every conscientious market participant.
