Belarus ready to step up cooperation with Vietnam

MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – Belarus is ready for vibrant cooperation with Vietnam in order to take the bilateral relations onto a higher level, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he received the credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Vietnam Do Van Mai on 5 October.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that, the state has many reliable and promising partners among the countries which are far away from Belarus. The President stressed that Belarus has been and will be a reliable and sincere friend of Vietnam in Europe. “Sincere friendship between the nations, braced over the decades of fruitful cooperation and mutual support, unites Belarus and Vietnam. I am happy that trust relations at the highest level continue strengthening,” the Belarusian leader said. In his words, it is a solid foundation for successful cooperation both in economics and foreign policy.

The Belarusian leader confirmed the country’s readiness to step up cooperation in science and industry. MAZ’s assembling plant has already been opened at the Vietnamese Corporation BEAM. The Belarusian Trading House was opened in Hanoi in September. As for Belarus-Vietnam trade, Belarus’ exports totaled $102.2 million in January-July.
