Tajikistan President might visit Belarus in 2013

MINSK, 7 September (BelTA) – President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon might pay a visit to Belarus in 2013, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Belarus Kozidavlat Koimdodov told a press conference on 7 September, BelTA has learnt.

According to the diplomat, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry has already sent an invitation to the Tajikistan Foreign Minister to visit Belarus. The date of the visit has not been finalized yet.

Next year, the President of Tajikistan might come to Belarus. According to the Tajikistan Ambassador, in any case the presidents of the two countries will be able to meet at sessions of the CIS. In 2013 Belarus might preside in the Commonwealth of Independent States and Minsk will host summits of the organization.

The two countries have developed fruitful cooperation in the bilateral format and within the framework of various international organizations. Inter-parliamentary and interregional cooperation is gaining momentum.

Tajikistan also plans to take part in the observation of the parliamentary elections in Belarus.
