Egypt to increase imports of Belarusian tractors in 2013

MINSK, 8 January (BelTA) – The prospects of increasing the supplies of Belarusian tractors to Egypt were discussed in Cairo on 6 January, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in Egypt.

These issues were in the limelight of the meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt Igor Fisenko and the Director General of Egypt’s Tractors & Engineering Co. (TECO). The Egyptian company specializes in assembling MTZ tractors and their component parts and supplying them to the Egyptian market.

The parties discussed the prospects of increasing the supplies of Belarusian tractors and spare parts to Egypt in 2013. The Director General of the Egyptian company voiced his intention to visit Belarus to discuss further cooperation.

In January-October 2012 Belarus imported 1,148 tractors worth $15.24 million to Egypt (802 tractors worth $10.65 million in the same period in 2011).
