Minsk to celebrate cultures of Grand Duchy of Lithuania on 24 July

MINSK, 10 July (BelTA) – The National Art Museum of Belarus will unite histories of four countries – Belarus, Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania – on 24 July. Minsk will become a center stage of a big concert titled “Day of Culture of Peoples of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania”, BelTA has learnt from the museum.

The forum will take five hours and will be held in the yard of the museum. The public will be entertained by a Belarusian group Palats that performs folk modern, Ukraine’s GICH Orchestra that is one of the most popular festival bands, Poland’s VoLosi string quintet and Lithuania’s Aiste Smilgeviciutes&SKYLE that was awarded by the Lithuanian President for its contribution to the culture.

The program features traditional arts and crafts, an exhibition of costumes, amour suits and weapons of the 13th-16th centuries, dances, quizzes, prizes and a special menu in the art cafe.

The forum is timed to the exposition “Portraits of the rulers and magnates of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania” that will run through 26 August.
