Lukashenko orders to make the most of upgraded dairy farms

KRUGLOYE DISTRICT, 8 July (BelTA) – President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has ordered to maximize the use of the dairy farms that are under renovation now. The President made this statement during his working trip to Mogilev Oblast on 8 July, BelTA has learnt.

In Krugloye District the President visited the Khrapy dairy farm affiliated with ASB-Agro Teterino where he discussed the state of efforts to fulfill the presidential instruction to renovate 1,208 dairy farms in Belarus. Agriculture and Food Minister of Belarus Leonid Zayats informed that only 362 facilities have been commissioned by now, while the upgrade of the remaining 846 farms is still ongoing. “The task is quite challenging, but feasible. We believe the farms will become operational by 1 October 2013. The upgrade works of many farms are nearing completion,” the minister said. He complained of some lack of financial and labor resources.

The head of state told the officials involved that the capacities of the dairy farms should be used to the fullest. “There should not be a single vacant livestock stand. These farms should operate at the maximum of their capacity, which should result in the increase in livestock population and milk production,” the President said.

Alexander Lukashenko was informed about milk production dynamics. Positive trends have emerged after some setback. The production is to expand by several percent by the yearend.
