Belarus President wants quality forage machines for agricultural companies

SHKLOV DISTRICT, 8 July (BelTA) – Agricultural companies should be provided with the necessary quality forage harvesters. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko gave the relevant instruction as he visited Shklov District, Mogilev Oblast on 8 July, BelTA has learned.

Visiting the agricultural company OAO Alexandriyskoye, the President was made familiar with modern technologies, Belarus-made and imported machines used to harvest grass forage. “This season we have to make our minds and certainly it is desirable to produce the entire range of the necessary machines. We should harvest quality forage. It is up to practical people to decide how to go about achieving that but we should offer a rational economic variant to them. We should count money and make optimal, rational, and economic machines,” said Alexander Lukashenko.

The head of state underlined that the quality of manufactured machines was his primary concern: “We don’t need sloppy workmanship”. The President urged Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats to be very thorough about that matter and avoid buying dubious-quality hardware for agricultural enterprises.

Alexander Lukashenko was informed about the progress of grass forage harvesting in Mogilev Oblast and Belarus as a whole. The President said that the quality of the work, the observance of the necessary technologies, deadlines, labor discipline were the matter of utmost importance because in the end the state of forage influences the health of animals and their productivity. “We need quality forage and you, Alexander Serafimovich [Yakobson, Chairman of the State Control Committee], should keep an eye on it,” said the head of state.
