Belarus attending UNDP-UNFPA-UNOPS annual session in New York

MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) – The Republic of Belarus is taking part in the annual session of the joint executive board of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), and United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). The session is taking place in the UN headquarters in New York, USA on 3-14 June, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told BelTA.

Belarus is taking part in the session as a full-fledged member of the executive board. The Belarus delegation takes part in discussing key matters on the agenda, including annual reports of the UNDP administrator and the UNFPA executive director, results of the implementation of the UNDP’s regional program for Europe and the CIS, as well as the UNFPA policy for evaluation activities.

The session is also expected to review and discuss matters relevant for the effectiveness of the operation of the UNDP, the UNFPA, and the UNOPS, financing and planning for the future period. Close attention is paid to discussing draft strategic plans of these organizations for 2014 to 2017.
