Second session of House of Representatives to open on 2 April

MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – The second session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the fifth convocation will open on 2 April, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko said as he opened a sitting of the Council of the House of Representatives on 27 March, BelTA has learnt.

Vladimir Andreichenko noted that the forthcoming session will be very busy. At present the House of Representatives is working on about 70 bills, 39 of them were included in the draft agenda of the second session. The agenda was presented to the Council of the House of Representatives on 27 March. Another set of bills will be submitted to the House of Representatives in the near future.

Talking about plans related to international cooperation, Vladimir Andreichenko said that the House of Representatives keeps working to improve the legal framework of the Union State, the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space. “We are mulling over and arranging visits of speakers of Singapore, Indonesia and India,” he added.

“The key event of the session will be the State of the Nation Address of the President. We will be able to compare what we have done with the targets set by the head of state,” Vladimir Andreichenko underlined.

Besides the draft agenda of the second session, the Council discussed other matters, outlined priorities and targets of the parliament for the forthcoming period.
