Construction industry expo in Minsk draws exhibitors from 12 countries

MINSK, 26 March (BelTA) - About 280 companies from 12 countries are taking part in the Stroyexpo. Spring 2013 expo which opened in Minsk on 26 March, BelTA learned.

The participants include major construction companies from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Israel, Poland and Estonia. The exhibition brings together major domestic producers such as Brest plant of building materials, Gomeloboi, Lakokraska, Legpromrazvitie, Smorgonsilikatobeton and many others.

The number of foreign exhibitors has almost doubled this year, Director of the National Exhibition Center BelExpo Alexei Lazuko said at the opening ceremony. There are regular exhibitors that support this project and participate annually in. However, the exposition is annually refreshed, this year by 30-40%,” added Alexei Lazuko.

Welcoming the participants, Deputy Minister of Architecture and Construction Dmitry Semenkevich noted that Stroyexpo is a very important annual event for the construction industry, the interest in which is constantly growing. Such expos are a very important platform for building professional relationships, singing contracts and introducing consumers to the latest achievements. Big attention is currently paid to new construction materials, which are produced in Belarus,” said the Deputy Minister.

According to Dmitry Semenkevich, this year’s top issue is energy saving and energy-efficient technologies. “Starting from 1 April dwelling houses in Belarus will be designed and built according to the energy-saving standards. Today close attention is attached to industrial house-building. I hope the expo will display the products that will help implement the country’s industrial individual house-building program,” he said. Apart from that, wooden architecture will be another top priority for the national construction industry this year. “A decision has been taken to give this area a new impetus,” Dmitry Semenkevich explained.

Stroyexpo. Spring 2013 traditionally covers everything related to the construction of buildings, overhauls or rearrangement. The forum will feature construction and decoration materials and technologies, road and construction machinery, instruments and equipment, individual protective gear and overalls, as well as interior items, lighting equipment, air conditioners, ventilation, heat and energy supply systems, sanitary ware and household appliances. Participants and guests of the forum will learn about new trends and technologies in territorial development, town planning, architecture, designing, energy and resource saving, exploitation, repair and conversion.

The exhibition will stay open until 29 March. Its organizer is the National Exhibition Center BelExpo under the auspices of the Architecture and Construction Ministry, the Industry Ministry, the Utilities Ministry and the Minsk City Hall.
