Belarusian, Chilean Ambassadors to Russia discus economic cooperation

MOSCOW, 21 March (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Chile to Russia Juan Eduardo Eguiguren discussed bilateral cooperation, first of all, in trade and economy at the meeting in Moscow on 21 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian embassy.

“The diplomats shared opinions about necessary joint steps to be made in the short term. The parties agreed that the planned appointment of Chilean Ambassador to Russia Juan Eduardo Eguiguren as Ambassador to Belarus on concurrent will help promote Belarus-Chile cooperation in various fields of mutual interest,” according to the embassy.

Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Chile were established in January 1992. Bilateral trade totaled $28.5 million in 2012. Belarus’ export to Chile made up $17.8 million, import reached $10.7 million.
