New confectionary to be built in Volkovysk

GRODNO, 5 March (BelTA) – An investment project on the construction of a confectionary in Volkovysk will be implemented by October 2015, BelTA learnt from the economy committee of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee.

Smakosha Company, registered at the Volkovysk regional executive committee, came up with a proposal to sign an investment agreement on launching the production of bakery and confectionery goods in the region. The oblast executive committee approved the idea. The future factory will be erected within the city limits on the area of 3.2 hectares. The investor plans to build two manufacturing premises, warehouses, and an office block. The project is estimated at nearly Br44 billion.

The project envisages up to 100 new jobs. The production will be focused on import-substituting confectionary products, the economy committee stressed.
