Belarus EU Business Council to keep promoting contacts between businessmen

MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Sergei Aleinik has met with Director of the Belarus EU Business Council James Wilson, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

The parties discussed work plans of the Business Council and bilateral cooperation in trade, economy, culture, and the humanitarian field.

The participants of the meeting praised the contribution of the Business Council to establishment of mutually beneficial contacts between Belarusian and European businessmen. They agreed to keep working on it in 2013. They also decided to hold regular meetings for representatives of the Belarusian and UK business communities, to implement projects aimed at informing European companies about investment opportunities in Belarus, and to forge and expand academic contacts between universities.

The Belarus EU Business Council was established in May 2007. Its major objective is to facilitate business operations and remove trade and economic barriers between Belarus and the European Union.
