Belgospishcheprom Concern to expand sales network in Armenia

YEREVAN, 15 May (BelTA) – Belgospishcheprom Concern has plans to expand its sales network in Armenia, Chairman of the concern Alexander Zabello told reporters in Yerevan on 15 May, BelTA has learnt.

In his words, residents of Armenia like Belarusian products. They appreciate their high and uncompromising quality and safety and would like to see them in signature stores. This was one of the reasons to open the branch of the Armenian-Belarusian Trading House Ar-Be in Yerevan. The trading house features a broad assortment of Belarus-made foodstuffs. “If the project is a success, we will consider opening more similar facilities and expanding franchise projects,” Alexander Zabello said.

At present 22 companies affiliated with Belgospishcheprom Concern cooperate with the Trading House Ar-Be. Other industries are also represented at the trading house. An open-air ground demonstrating agricultural machines opened near the trading house in 2012. Belarus successfully rivals other farm machine producers on the Armenian market. “We have already practiced several sales schemes, including sales of these products via Belarusian agricultural leasing schemes and via joint leasing schemes offered to our customers by the trading house and an Armenian bank. Our customers are mostly small agricultural companies, farmers, companies of the housing and utilities sector,” Alexander Zabello said.

He noted that now Belgospishcheprom Concern is working to challenge the existing sales structure where 83% of trade comes in the form of wholesale, wile retail sales are underdeveloped. “We hope to make the ratio at least 50/50. There are some issues, but we are working on them. One of the issues is logistics that has a considerable impact on prices for our products, especially prices for foodstuffs that expire fast. I think we will resolve the issue soon,” Chairman of Belgospishcheprom Concern said.
