Chambers of commerce promote economic relations between Belarus, China

MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) – The Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Belarus and China stimulate development of trade and economic relations between the two countries, head of the department for international cooperation of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Alexander Golovarev said at the opening of a business matchmaking session between business circles of Belarus and the Chinese Province of Shaanxi which is taking place in Minsk on 5 November, BelTA has learnt.

“One of the reasons stimulating development of trade and economic relations between the countries is the establishment of contacts between business circles. It is promoted first of all by chambers of commerce and industry which perform the role of a qualified and authoritative mediator worldwide,” the official said. In his opinion, the goals and tasks of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Belarus and China coincide. They organize business missions and presentations, conduct business forums, provide business with such services as intellectual property protection, training and enhancement of qualification, organization of exhibition events, etc. “That means that Chinese companies can address the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for assistance any time. I am confident that we will be able to find answers to all the issues that arise, provide assistance in difficult situations,” Alexander Golovarev said.

According to him, today’s meeting between Belarusian and Chinese businessmen will also promote further development of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Belarus and China.

According to the Deputy Director-General of the Commerce Department of Shaanxi Province, a meeting between businessmen of Belarus and this Chinese province will provide an opportunity to learn more about each other. It will be a so-called presentation of opportunities and potential of the two countries. “The Chinese delegation have come to get familiar with the economic situation in Belarus in order to outline promising areas of cooperation. First of all, we are interested in developing trade and economic relations between Belarus and our province. We also would like to learn about the opportunities of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park to determine our role in the implementation of this project,” the Chinese representative said.

The Chinese delegation has comprised 18 representatives of various companies and organizations of the Province of Shaanxi. Among them is the Commerce department of the province, Shaanxi Automobile Group Co. Ltd. producing trucks, logistics company Shaanxi Zhongneng Shengyuan Logistics Co. Ltd., Shaanxi Huayuan Limited Company of Agriculture and Technologies. Representatives of these companies are interested in selling their products on the Belarusian market and are ready to discuss other forms of cooperation.
