EEC creating mechanisms to implement coherent agricultural policy concept

MOSCOW, 10 October (BelTA) - The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is working to create instruments to implement the coherent agricultural policy concept of the members of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space. A science-to-practice seminar held in Moscow on 9-10 October discussed the methodology for developing food resources projections, BelTA has learnt.

The seminar reviewed the structure of projections of demand and supply for food resources in the CU and EEC member states and the economic tools for their development. These projections allow tying demand for agricultural products, raw materials and foodstuffs to capabilities of national producers and CU and EEC mutual and foreign trade and also detecting possible risks and threats to food security.

Experts and members of the working group, which included representatives of all CU member states, discussed and amended the draft methodologies and regulations concerning the projections of demand and supply for food resources in the CU and EEC member states. These documents will be discussed at the next session of the Advisory Council for Agricultural Complex.
