Polish SME advancing in Belarus

MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – Small and medium-size business from Poland is expanding operations in Belarus more actively than in Russia and Kazakhstan. This statement was made at the 3rd European Congress of Small and Medium-Size Enterprises held in Katowice on 16-18 September, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

Taking part in the congress were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Poland Viktor Gaisenok. He spoke at the thematic section “Economic and business cooperation of Europe with Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia”. The diplomat emphasized the openness of Belarus and its interest in promoting trade, economic, investment and financial cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Space and the EU. Viktor Gaisenok noted that Belarus is a kind of gateway to the Customs Union for the EU.

The participants of the section agreed that Eurasian integration will benefit Poland and other EU member states. They noted that small and medium-size business from Poland has more operations in Belarus than in Russia and Kazakhstan. According to the participants of the discussion, eased registration of foreign companies and state support for foreign investors greatly facilitate the advance of Polish business eastwards via Belarus.
