RSA offers Belarus cooperation in mining operations, agriculture

MINSK, 3 September (BelTA) – The Republic of South Africa offers Belarus cooperation in mining operations and agriculture, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa Maite Nkoana Mashabane said at the meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 3 September, BelTA has learnt.

Maite Nkoana Mashabane agreed that the economies of Belarus and the RSA are complementary. “We are here to lay foundation for this cooperation and fulfill its potential,” the minister noted.

In her words, the meetings in Belarus helped determine the areas which have cooperation potential. “Resource development is among such areas. Here Belarus possesses necessary experience and equipment that we can use. The agricultural sector also opens up new vistas. This sector can be used by Belarus for advancing to the South African market as well as the markets of other regions of the country,” Maite Nkoana Mashabane said.
